Ingredients
Polenta
200 ml | Milk |
1 pinch | Salt |
1 twig | Thyme |
40 g | Polenta |
40 g | Butter |
1 piece | Mango (optional) |
30 g | Parmesan (optional) |
Preparation steps
Basic polenta recipe
- Heat the milk in a saucepan over a medium heat.
- Add a pinch of salt and the thyme and stir in the polenta until it begins to thicken.
- Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the butter.
- Season again if necessary.
Fruity version with mango
- For the fruity version, fold in the mango cubes or use as a garnish. This gives the creamy polenta a slightly sweet note and makes a tasty combination with hearty meat dishes.
Spicy polenta casserole with Parmesan cheese
- For a spicy casserole, stir about 30 g of grated Parmesan into the polenta instead of the mango, pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish and gratinate in the oven at 170°C using the grill function for about 10 minutes.
