Red cabbage with a hint of mulled wine

Ingredients
Red cabbage with a hint of red wine
1 tbsp. | Oil |
1 piece | Onion, chopped |
2 piece | Apple, grated |
500 g | Red cabbage |
100 ml | Red wine or apple juice |
1 dash | Balsamico vinegar |
1 pinch | Salt |
1 pinch | Sugar |
1 tsp. | Mulled wine spice from STAY SPICED! |
100 ml | Vegetable stock |
Preparation steps
Stew the red cabbage
- Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion and grated apples. Add the chopped red cabbage and sauté briefly.
Season to taste and reduce
- Now deglaze with red wine (or apple juice) and the balsamic vinegar and season with salt, sugar and STAY SPICED! mulled wine spice.
- Add the vegetable stock and simmer the red cabbage for about 30 minutes until it is nice and soft but still firm to the bite. Season again with salt and sugar before serving.
