Classic Bread Dumplings

Our classic recipe for fluffy bread dumplings is the perfect accompaniment to our sure-fire roast pork royal. Homemade always tastes better, as we learned from our grandmothers.

Ingredients

Bread Dumplings
250 gBread cubes
275 mlMilk
200 mlHeavy cream
2Eggs
1 pinchSalt
SomePepper
SomeNutmeg
1 twigThyme

Preparation steps

Mix the dumpling mixture

  1. Place the bread cubes in a bowl.
  2. Heat the milk and cream to 70°C and mix in the eggs.
  3. Season the liquid with salt, pepper, nutmeg and thyme.
  4. Mix the bread cubes well with the liquid and leave to rest for 30 minutes.

Cook the dumplings

  1. Shape the bread dumplings, wrap in cling film and cover with aluminum foil.
  2. Cook in boiling water for 30 minutes, garnish with a little parsley if necessary.
