Hasselback Potatoes
In case you're wondering “What are Hasselback potatoes?” In this preparation method, which originated in Sweden, potatoes are cut into a fan shape and baked in the oven. Nice and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside: here's how to do it step by step.

Ingredients
Cut the potatoes
8 pieces | Potatoes, small |
Season and bake
4 tbsp. | Butter (melted) |
40 g | Parmesan (grated) |
2 tbsp. | Thyme leaves |
Some | Salt |
Some | Pepper |
Preparation steps
Cut into the potatoes
- Preheat the oven to 200°C fan oven.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Wash the potatoes, pat dry and place on a chopping board.
- Place a chopstick on each long side of the potatoes.
- Make fan-shaped cuts in the potatoes at short intervals. The chopsticks prevent the potatoes from being cut all the way through.
Season and bake
- Place the cut potatoes on the baking tray
- Drizzle with melted butter, sprinkle with Parmesan and thyme.
- Season with salt and pepper and roast in the oven (middle shelf) for approx. 50 minutes until golden brown.
